Description

This unique cross border route straddling the England and Wales border follows some of the finest scenery in the UK within the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The traffic-free section of 3.1miles is an ideal walking and cycling route, suitable for all abilities and disabled access. It has been constructed to meet exacting requirements in view of the highly sensitive nature of this area of international nature conservation importance.It largely follows the River Wye through the upper Wye Gorge and connects Monmouth and Symonds Yat. There is an option at Symonds Yat East for walking up the
steep path to the Symonds Yat Rock viewing area for panoramic views and to view the Peregrine Falcons by telescope in the nesting season. (Sustrans)
